The Union Scholarship Fund in partnership with Dining Services provides one (1) $3,000 each to assist a Dining Services student employee in accomplishing their academic goals. The purpose is to identify and recognize student leaders whose involvement has, or will contribute to the overall mission of Dining Services and the University Union. This includes students who are or will be associated with the different leadership opportunities within Dining Services or the University Union. These opportunities can include but are not limited to involvement with an office or event(s) in the Union.

The Union Scholarship Fund provides three scholarships of $3,000 each to assist student leaders in accomplishing their academic goals. The purpose is to identify and recognize student leaders whose involvement has, or will contribute to the overall mission of the Union. The Youthlinc Utah Young Humanitarian Award, in partnership with the A. Ray Olpin Union, has been celebrating outstanding humanitarian service among youth since 2005. One outstanding high school student and one outstanding college student will each receive a $7,500 college scholarship. One high school student and one college student will each receive a $4,000 college scholarship. Three high school students and three college students will each receive a $1,500 college scholarship for a total of $32,000 in scholarship awards to students who are working to make a difference wherever and however they can.

The Union acknowledges and recognizes transfer students within our campus community for their dedication and commitment to creating an inclusive environment. The María Isabel Reyes Memorial Transfer Scholarship provides two (2) scholarships of $3,000 to assist a transfer student in accomplishing their academic goals. The purpose of this scholarship is to identify and recognize a transfer student whose commitment to creating an inclusive campus community has, or will, contribute to the culture, values, and overall mission of the Union. This includes transfer students who are or will be associated with promoting diversity and inclusion within the Union and/or campus community. These opportunities can include but are not limited to involvement within an office or event(s) in the Union

The Hamza Yaqoobi First Generation Union Scholarship provides two (2) scholarships of $3,000 to first-generation college students pursuing an undergraduate degree. The scholarship aims to identify and recognize first-generation students whose commitment to creating community has, or will, contribute to the culture, values, and overall mission of the Union and the surrounding Utah community. This includes students building and strengthening their community within the Union, University of Utah campus community, and the Utah community.

The Graduate School & Union Student Leader Scholarship provides two (2) scholarship of $2,000 to assist a graduate student in accomplishing their academic goals. The purpose of this scholarship is to identify and recognize a graduate student whose commitment to creating an inclusive campus community has, or will, contribute to the culture, values, and overall mission of the Union.

The Union Scholarship Fund provides one (1) scholarship of $3,000 to assist refugee students in accomplishing their academic goals. The purpose is to identify and recognize students who serve their refugee community and their community engagement and service have, or will contribute to the overall mission of the Union.

The Union Scholarship Fund in partnership with the Feed U Pantry and Union Programming Council will provide one $3,000 scholarship to assist a student in accomplishing their academic goals. The purpose is to identify and recognize a student whose community engagement and service have, or will, contribute to the mission of the Union and focus on food insecurity issues.

The Whit Hollis Champions of the LGBTQIA+ Community Scholarship provides one scholarship of $3,000 to an outstanding undergraduate, or graduate student enrolled or planning to enroll at the University of Utah who advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community and who demonstrate a need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses through the financial need essay.

The West High Alumni Association, in partnership with The Union Administration Office, is pleased to announce two (2) scholarships of $5,000 each to assist undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Utah who are also graduates of West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah

The Larry H. and Gail Miller Foundation & Union Scholarship for Veteran Students provides four (4) scholarships of $2,500 to assist student veterans in accomplishing their academic goals. Two scholarships will be awarded for fall 2023 and two scholarships for spring 2024. The purpose is to identify and recognize a student veteran whose involvement has or will contribute to the overall mission of the VSC & the Union. This includes students who are, or will be associated with different leadership opportunities within the VSC or Union. These opportunities can include, but are not limited to, involvement with an office or event(s) in the VSC, Union, or veteran-focused organization, activity, or initiative.

The Future Alumni Scholarship provides four (4) scholarships of $5,000 each to students near completion of their undergraduate and graduate degrees to reduce loans and assist with unmet financial need. The purpose of this scholarship is to identify students near completion of their degree but need financial support to become alumni of the University of Utah. This scholarship is for students who may have considered dropping out of school due to unmet financial need. Additionally, this scholarship is intended for students whose involvement has or will contribute to the overall wellbeing of the University of Utah campus community and will continue to do so after becoming part of the University of Utah alumn
