Welcome to the U! As a freshman, you are entering one of the most exciting years of your life and we here at the Union Programming Council want to help make it even better! The Union Programming Council, or UPC, is dedicated to providing an exciting and positive on-campus experience for students at the University of Utah. Through our 7 different boards, we program events and activities for students all around campus from Zombie Tag to Crimson Nights to providing opportunities to serve the community. No matter what your interests, you are sure to find something that appeals to you! As a freshman,​ you have the opportunity to be a part of one of the most hands-on and interactive boards the university offers, the Freshman Ambassador Board or as we like to call it, FAB.

As a member of FAB you will be given a budget and a team of other awesome FABs to program your very own events here in the Union. Not only will you get to plan huge events, but will also have the opportunity to meet and learn from other campus leaders, gain vital leadership skills, and create lifelong friendship. Past FABs have planned Casino Nights, Game Shows, international taste testings and so much more.

We know you are probably feeling overwhelmed going into your first year. We all did. But being involved on campus is one of the best things you can do for your college career. As a FAB you will be expected to comply with a few simple requirements:

• Attend a weekly meeting
• Attend a retreat
• Engage in learning about other Union Programming Council boards
• Be active in planning and programming of FAB events
• Bring a fun and positive attitude to the board
• Be in your first year at the University of Utah
• Participate in other events and activities hosted by UPC
